Gurgling behind the dash...

Post by BlueCrush »

I have been meaning to post about this for a couple years now, but never got around to it. When I first start driving after the car as sat for 15+ minutes (doesn't matter the time of year) there will be gurgling sounds from the behind the dash. I'm pretty sure it is just the coolant running thru the heater core. After the 1st couple of accelerations, the sound is gone, I'm guessing because the air has been pushed out thru the heater core and into the rest of the coolant system. There have never been and performance issues, leaks or heat issues and my coolant level is normal. It is just something I have noticed for a long time. Anyone else's do the same thing?

EDITED - Sorry I offended you -By design, air should be forced out of the heater/coolant system into the recovery tank when the system is up to temperature, and replaced with coolant from the recovery tank as the system cools. Unless you're quite low on coolant, or have an air leak somewhere, there shouldn't be any air to cause gurgling.

You wouldn't be talking that way had you spent 33 years working your (removed) off for a company that "guaranteed" you a good pension and medical benefits that we GM retirees now see going down the tubes. Laugh while you can, my friend.

Maybe you have Monica Lewinski under you dash. Your car is blue.
