AT&T U-Verse?

Does any one here have U-Verse TV and/or Internet?How do you like it?I know it uses the land-based telephone connections in the house (DSL), butWould I be required to have land-based phone service to then have the U-verse services?It doesn't seem worth it if I'll have to pay for telephone service I'll never use just to have internet and tv service.I currently am under TWC and while I don't currently have any issues with the High-Speed internet ( unless they go to the usage based billing) I do have lots of issues with the quality and customer service with the Television side.I used to have Directv and Loved them my current residence was not able to allow me to keep it. The good part is I'll be moving soon to an apartment that will allow me to return to Directv. So I can ditch TWC.I'd love to ditch the company all together but that would require a different High Speed internet option. DSL would be fine, only if it did not require to have land based phone service.I can have cable internet without cable tv so why not DSL internet without phone?

I read today that TWC has decided not to go with usage based billing.From what I know you can get U-Verse or Cable internet without any other service - it is just a lot cheaper to bundle at least two services. My WOW internet and Cable TV is $70 a month until Jan. 2011.I am sure there is info on the internet.

I have Uverse in the DFW area and I can tell you I will NEVER go back to cable if I have a choice.I love being able to record 4 things at once, I love the HD quality and I do not have phone with my service(internet and TV)
