Rear suspension swap from AWD to GT.

Hello from bears and vodka:)Is it possible? I really disappointed in rear axle on GT.Anyone do this or mb any suggestions? I can weld if it needed.We have one crashed AWD here and if it possible, i can take rear suspension from it.Thx for advice.

with time and money it is possible but its going to require changing the exhaust routing too.... so if you know how to fab or someone else try it.

I suppose that cardan prevent it, and because i don't need it its not a problem, isnt it?

lol, well the routing of exhaust will be the easiest part of the swap. You have to look at how the new IRS connects to the chassis and how you will fab the parts in.

Nobody has posted about doing it before, and I have only ever touched the base (no GT, no AWD) so this is all just a guess, but I think that the factory builds the body and later it gets fitted with the various bolt ons needed to turn that body into a base, GT, or AWD. I would expect the AWD rear axle to bolt onto any Vibe body of the same/similar year. You might be able to grab the exhaust out of the wrecked AWD and use some of it too. I have no idea if the AWD axle would be better than the GT setup

The AWD rear suspension is independent, correct? Would think that would be a better setup than the base/GT torsion bar rear.
