My buddy has a set of those tires on his 04' vibe. The ride is pretty good and not too harsh with the handling improved quite a bit due to the stiffer side wall. I believe the brand of tire he bought were Avon ultra high performance summer tires of of tire rack. I will be installing that same size myself probably next summer.

Size does have some to do with the traction increase, but so does rubber compound and case construction.. Personalty, I think the Michilens are WAY overkill on a Vibe.. my opinion of course, but I've had numerous sets of performance tires and spend an amount of time researching tires.. No way am I an expert.. A lot has to do with what you are after... Mileage, handling, traction... do you want something with a softer ride ..... I'm not 100% sure what it is you are asking..
