I received a letter from my dealership that says the following: We have in our records as currently owning a 2004, 2005, 2006 GMC or Pontiac vehicle. There may be software updates available for your vehicle's computer system that could enhance your vehicle's performance and operation. Blah, blah, blah.Has anyone else received a letter like this? Is my dealership (who I hate) just trying to get me in the door so they can swindle more money out of me?

I have an 06 and have not received anything. I was told, however, that when they replaced my O2 sensors that sometimes the ECU needs replaced afterwards, which also sounds fishy to me.

why would they not mention 2003, 2007 or 2008? they all had the same engines, the only issues with flashes I thought were in 2003 and 2005... huh maybe call and ask?

2005 AWD What's your story? It's a wonderful thingMomma always said "Help that is not helpful, is no help at all"
If it is worded like you typed, I would say it is just a letter to get you into the service department. (and yes, just to get more money out of you).

You probably got two similar letters that day -1. from your dealer - There may be software updates . . .2. From Ed McMahon - You may have won $5,000,000 . . .

Not likely to be legit on a vibe.I know GM issues software revisions for the G6 often...but in GM cars, there are so many things controlled by the BCM, PCM, and TCM that it's sensible. The doesn't really have a BCM, which is where, from my experience, the bulk of the software updates are aimed. Sounds like a generic form letter sent out by your dealership to all pontiac owners...with no consideration for what they actually drive.I call BS.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I have a 2005 AWD Vibe and have received no letter from my dealer and this is the second car they have sold me and they keep saying why don't i come in and buy another. Sounds like your dealer has an imagination.
