Spash guard & double face tape.

Post by PopeyeFAFL »

I have the exact needed splash guard for my Vibe 2005.I don't have any problems, except for the Front driver side splash guard that always get loose.Actually the "pine tree" fastener located at the bottom is gone (I will wait 2 or 3 more weeks and replace it, while the car will be lifted in the small garage I go to, for winter/summer tires changes). For some reasons, that splash guard (and only that one) get rip-off by accumulated snow or under heavy rain.My question to you:Will you advice adding a strip of double-faced tape before re-installing it with the proper screw? (or do you think that this will then rip-off the body wheel housing cladding?).Or do you have a better idea? Thanks in advance.

I've lost a few of these and I just bought a bag of the fasteners from a local parts store and just check it regularly and replace as needed. Replacing the rivot thing with a bolt will most likely result in a torn liner, but the DST just might work, if you don't over do it. I would still put the rivot thing back in tho.
