Among the fatal wreckage formerly known as the US auto industry, there are two glimmers of life.GM reported a 50% decline in US sales from January 2008!Nevertheless, GM had two bright spots: Vibe sales increased modestly to 2,512 from 2,338 a year ago. That's a 7.4% increase!Saturn Astra sales jumped to 824 from 215 in January 2008. That's a 283.3 % increase. But still, there's very bad news: Will you EVER hear GM mention in public that Vibe sales increased? Not on your red-headed-step-child's life. Vibe is persona-non-grata because it's the NUMMI joint venture with Toyota.Link to full GM US results for January 2009 --> http://media.corporate-ir.net/...9.pdf
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
There used to be a running tally of Vibe sales by month and year - somebody have that link?Interesting that at Pontiac, the Vibe was 33.7% of Jan 2009 sales. And that was with gas under $2, not at $4.I understand Toyota does not provide individual sales numbers that would allow a comparision to the Matrix.

GM would rather push the cobalt.... Given it has the xfe but no where NEAR the room/space the vibe has... MAN GM way to be stupid! hate to have the vibe save GM all by it self...that would be awesome and ironic

Good to see Vibe sales still doing ok. We recently started building a higher percentage of Vibes - about 40% (60% Corollas). Generally this is in the 25%-30% range and can change daily. But this doesn't necessarily mean more Vibes, it could just be less Corollas. On the plant floor, we're not privy to to any of that information. Its a shame that GM continues to not want to promote the Vibe, luckily sales are decent despite this.
