Post by yoshi64 »

Attached is a picture of what im talking about. Took it to the dealer couldn't find the problem. happens in all four corners depends on where car is during rain (e.g. on a hill, flat....) figured it had something to do with moon roof but i don't know. any ideas would help me out.here is imageshack, so i don't have to wait for approval.

Crap, it is not under warranty. Have you thought about taking it to a different shop besides the dealer? The drains on the moon roof have to be disconnected or clogged for sure.

My first guess would be the antenna hole after the moon roof. There's a "How to" on removing the headliner somewhere on this site.

I had a leak coming through at the joint of my A-pillar cover and headliner. I suspected the moon roof drain. I got the whole headliner down, then went to test the tube to see where it was leaking. That's when I saw a bulbous twig blocking the drain intake. The water wasn't even making it into the drain! It was pooling, then pouring over the lip into the headliner, then pooling again at that corner. And I had removed the headliner (took me about 25 minutes) for nothing. A learning experience, anyway. So, if you've got a leak and you suspect the moon roof, first check up there. Open the glass and pop your head up there. The drains are holes about the size that would fit a pencil. - BenP.S. This is why I have never been a fan of paying $1,000 for a hole in my roof. Not to mention the risk of a sunburn to the top of my head - not much cover left.
