I avoided all on that list - but I could nominate a few others. Good to see that Car and Driver has some humility re their car of the year picks that turned out not so good!

Unfortunately I remember all those cars, fortunately avoided owning any of them.C & D always had a bit of an irreverent tone, lots of fun to read in the late 70s and early 80's. Some great P.J. O'Rourke articles from the time. Couple of lines I still remember from them:Lucas Electronics - the people who invented darkness.Reviewing history of the VW bug - always had a drip of oil under it - proof positive the British were involved in the design. And P.J. O'Rourke's very politically incorrect "High-Speed Performance Characteristics of Pickup Trucks": http://nctr.net/Campfire%20tai...s.htm

I had a 73 vega GT. I had lots of fun times in that car. The original block sucked and I replaced it with one that had steel sleeves installed. It stopped sucking down oil after that. The GT handled great for it's day. Some idiot t-boned my poor little Vega and killed it. Memories, from the corners of my mind....
