Hi All,I got a Valet 561r for Christmas. I'm going to install it in my 07 Vibe (auto, power locks, keyless entry). Does anyone have some experience installing this model (or similar) that they'd be willing to share? Thanks,Bob(my searches through the forum revealed alot of posts, but no "how to's")
I did install a remote starter. I used info from bulldogsecurity.com there are some good tips and photos of what to expect. Seems 2005 should be same as 2007.Hardest part was finding the tach wire, some starters do not have this. Highly recommend that if the starter does not have it, trade it in for one that does.Good luck
if you are confident working with electrical check here for the wire diagramhttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=31372The Vibe is an easy car for the remote start, IMO the bypass on yours will be the hardest part.My advice is to work slow, take your time, and test wires twice.Aron
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style

The one that I got (Valet 561) had several recommendations on this forum. Honestly though, I haven't opened the box yet. My next project will probably be replacing the clutch in my kids' Prizm once they head back to college. Then I'll start on the remote starter. Thanks,Bob

I thought that the 2007 Vibe was free of the usual GM security stuff.Bob
If you've never done this kind of work, it's not recommended to start now... You'll understand when you open the box.. lol... 200 wires a glaring at you in a neat pile... lol.. Alarm installs are 65-80% install, and I really give it to alarm installers, i've been doing audio for 15yrs and haven't ONCE installed an alarm.. They also tie into to many electrical systems, for me to feel comfortable with the work... I know the type of work inside and out to..
I also Hate doing remote starts, and if you ask me they suck, however I dont mind doing alarms, is that strange? and like Sublimewind said it is a very daunting task and you will probably feel in over your head once you open the box. To me what I hate the most is tieing into the factory ignition wires, I hate it and will test every wire over and over again for 15 min before making a connection. Thats probably why my alarm/RS took 2 days to install though.I could have swore that the alarm bypass was added in 2007, but I double checked and there was no mention of a bypass needed until the 2008'sAron
