Interior of tail

Post by Amtron »

Hey, I was wondering if anyone can tell me:1. What is this piece for?2. Does it come off and how? It's for a mod I thought of today.I don't have a picture of the piece I'm trying to describe here, but I'll bring in a written picture lol:It's on the interior of the trunk. It's on the lower portion of the hard plastic beneath the hatch glass. Roughly 10" long, and 4" tall. Potentially a cover for electronics?Anyways, if someone can tell me what it's for, if anything, and answer the above stated questions, that would be awesome!

The piece you are asking about is a removable plastic cover. It allows access to the rear wiper motor.

Perfect! Thanks! how can I remove it? I looked at it, and the only way I can see to remove it seems like it will damage the piece.

Be careful though bc one side has clips to just pop out, but the other is hinged almost and you won't be able to pop it out. I wish I could help more but it has been about4 months since I've had it off and can't remember completely. Actually, to save yourself possible damage, that whole back panel is really easy to remove. You may just try that at first to save yourself from possibly scratched or messing up the panels.

Thanks for all the help guys! I guess it doesn't even really matter if the piece comes out...I was planning on putting a Streetglow neon tube back there and putting a piece of fiberglass over where the panel used to be. So if it does break it's no biggy I guess.
