odd noise

Post by heav »

There is this odd noise comming from the rear of my 04 vibe. Its like a popping clunking clanking clackin noise. It only does it sometimes when going betweek 15 and 20 mph. It will never do it when I have my dad listen or drive it. And recently its been doing this squick when I am just going slowly through parking lots and when I bearly push the brakes. I have it in the shop right now, and we find out what they think soon, but be my luck they wont' hear it. And luckly I have 200 more miles before the warrenty runs out, but again with my luck it won't cover it. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I have checked out the forum and read other peoples simular souding probs.

Not a whole lot back there... maybe a loose sway bar?

Well apparently there were screws missing on some manifold heater screen or something. And they cleaned my brakes. I havent' drove it much afterwards but I haven't heard anything.

mine did that once as well. I ended up finding the problem was rusted edges of the rear brake drum would fall into the drum.... so as the wheels spin, the chips clang around in the brake drums. 'cleaning' the brakes probably solved the issue.
