I'm having an issue atm with the above tires - slick as hell in the rain and with apprx 13,600 miles on them measure 8/32's on the front and 6/32's on the rear. This is supposed to be an 80k mile tire. i've been in contact with the Hankook southeast US tire rep but thus far he has only had me take the Vibe in to a Hankook dealer to "check the tires out", the dealer found nothing obviously wrong with anything on, near, or under the damn car or the tires.I did my due diligence before going the tire rep route, getting the brakes checked, alignment, all the bs - nothing found. My Vibe doesn't eat the tires but sure uses the hell out of them.... normal or what?
Any "high milage" is a POS if you ask me, and it's the exact reason WHY they are so slick in the rain... It takes a hard rubber compound to make a high mileage tire, hense slick... This is why I use a summer specific tire.. they don't last as long, sure, but they are usually cheaper than a lot of the "good" A/S tires and the grip is there when you need it... The wear problem, I can't tell you... some designs, just suck..
i also have these tires! i defnitly conisder them a POS theres only a small amount of snow on the road fresh snow that is (2-3 cm) and they dont handle the road at all even when at speeds 10-15km/h this also goes for the rain as well, i find they tend to spin alot more then they probly should even when you apply light pressure to the gas. this beeing said on a pair of BRAND NEW ONES! if your looking to replace the goodyear assurance tripple treads are a gread choice!
