Took my 09 vibe in to dealer and showed salesman the hood and facia with rock chips. He said come back Monday and show service rep and he will take pictures then send to gm for re paint approval. It will be in their hands and if it not a go for hood/facia repaint and proper clear coat they can have it back and I will start looking for something that won't chip so easy.Only 2000 highway miles on it.
I can't believe this is ongoing. The Vibe has been made since 2002 ('03 model)and they still have done nothing about the crappy paint quality. I put a bug deflector on my '04 and '06 which helps a lot. You'll find the Vibes windshield is also a rock magnet, especially driving on those high speed gravel roads in Saskatchewan.
Yes it is to bad and stings when you have to get a front end repaint for a brand new car. That is the reason for buying new so you can enjoy your new purchase not worry if it will be covered for a paint job.It takes the fun out of owning a new car.Oh well maybe an Equinox in the near future.(no bad paint issues with those.)

he, he, he....as long as its not a deer magnet; that's all I care about.I had my hood repainted already due to acid rain. So instead of paint chips, I now have bits of dust blown into the paint job. Frankly, I can't imagine my '09 paint job being anywhere as bad as the first generation. It took only a year for my wife's Vibe to be a disaster area. I have been giving her car a gasoline bath for years, just to get the junk off the crappy paint job. One day I'll throw a match into the mix
