LED signal and brake light?

Post by Vibe2009 »

Any of these product out there for vibe 2009 that are directly plug-in?I like the reaction time of LED, you can really see them going on/off... is way faster than bulb... as well, is much brighter!

Don't know if you ever got an answer about this question It's been over 1-1/2 years Anyways if you NEVER did, then pay attention to my posts during the next month and you might find something you'll really like I'm designing and building an LED 3rd brake light that will be VERY unique and will look awesome

Don't our cars already have the LED 3rd brake light on the hatch? Interested to see what you've got brewing over there =D

Interested to see what you've got brewing over there =DTrue they currently do have LED's lighting the 3rd brake light. To be exact FOUR ,5mm,8000mcd LED's. What I'm putting together will have 60, 3mm, 6000mcd LED's, oriented in a way where they "spell " something AND not only will illuminate during braking (obviously ) but also with the park/running lights, thanks to a 4.7K ohm resistor. I've already got it bench tested and works flawlessly. Just have to GET OFF THIS FORUM (only for a while) and get to the shop and fabricate the enclosure/housing & make it all fit. I should have it done in a couple weeks

It's possible that it will be "hotspotted" as you put it since the LEDs are not diffused and there is no diffuser back there, but since there are 54 jam packed like that, it would probably create one big hotspot, which is exactly what you are wanting, a brake light lol.

yeah, i read that and since I'm not a member over there, I figured I'd give my thoughts over here. Yeah, if it was a GVC member who was doing those, there would already be before and after and a how to lol. Not knocking on them, but give props to our community though.

Damn right about us GVC members For the price, that 54 LED cluster is a good buy ..... BUT , it won't fit the 09-10 vibes (current 3rd light dimensions = 3/4" tall x 7-1/2" wide). Also they used 5mm LED's. This arrangement MIGHT bet a bit warm ???? My 60 LED, 3mm arrangement does not get warm at all, and total current draw is a mere .25 amps I really have to get off my but and finish it so I can post pics. It will be done before Memorial day ..... promise

In your case I guess it's safe to say it's the "neglected redheaded stepchild" right?

The aftermarket field isn't ready for us .... YET! That's where creative guys like me come in to play Testing the waters on "safe" mods and sharing with fellow Vibers Do I sense a milestone here ????? My 100th post
