Post by Petrucci914 »

Hello everyone,Trying to order a replacement, but the lists of ones to buy are confusing me.Please see this link and let me know which one I need:http://www.rockauto.com/catalo...=5836It looks like 3 of them would work, but that can't be.

you need the one that goes from the header to the down pipe? Then its the 4th one, the flange one, or should be. Did you check with a toyota dealer near to to see what they charge?

I don't mess with dealers. Especially with this car.Toyota: It's a GM car. We need a VIN. Your VIN won't work.GM: That gasket will be 4 easy payments of $29.99Yes, the one that goes from the end of the header....

I am often wrong, but when I look at it I think:The one that goes between the header and the down pipe would be the exhaust manifold flange gasket, walker part number 31378, as shown in http://info.rockauto.com/Walke...8.jpgThe exhaust pipe flange gasket goes between the catalytic converter and the mufflerOn the stock set up, there is half donut gasket on both ends of the catalytic coverter pipe, one at the header, one at the pipe to the muffler. The one at the header is bigger. Here's a pic of the two from when I replaced my cat.looking at the website again, I don't know which is which

adam, toyota sells stuff real cheap. Just find the part number from MO, google or Boosted2.0 over on newcelica as he has tons of these. walk into toyota with the part number you'll get it for like 10 or under. Otherwise just tell them you have a matrix of your year and need the gasket/flange. They do NOT need your vin, ive already bought parts from toyota on many occasions and just said I had a trix or they never asked if i brought the part number in.

like joat was saying, which gasket are you trying to replace (header, downpipe, mid pipe, muffler part etc etc there could be a ton of them in the exhaust)? and like i said, did you try over on newcelica asking boosted2.0 (if its the header gasket) he has tons as he ports headers.

Re: (northvibe) walker exhaust pipe gasket

I just replaced my muffler with a Walker Exhaust Pipe Gasket replacement and I am very satisfied! Direct fit and no installation problems at all. Recently, the exhaust pipe gasket on my car which runs from the cat to the muffler rotted out. The resonator was much larger than the stock one and even included a heat shield.
