sorry new to this site and trying to post pics, I'm not sure how this is going to turn out. I plan on lowering my vibe, but I would like to sustain ride quaility. in other words maybe lower it 1.5 or two inches. and with the best tires for road harshness and least amount of noise. I don't care about corning hard or aggressive style driving, more concerned about looks and ride. any input.........I looked at brigdestone tarezena serenity for ride quaility. I love the 18inch wheel size but I don't think I can get a very good ride quaility. I boughgt 17inch factory wheels, recently reconditioned and painted, but might sell them and go with 18inch. if I can get a good ride and lower it. any help would be great. If I go with the 17inch I'm thinking of going with 225/50/17 instead of the 215. that way I can get a little more height on the sidewall and wider tire. what a great site by the way!!! thanks guys
Welcome to GenVibe! I'm lowered 2" and running 17" wheels with 215/50/17 tires so it would be close ro the look your are looking for. being lowered w/18's is cool looking but the ride is horrible. I was lowered 2-1/2" and on 18's with 225/40/18 wheels for a year before I got rid of them. Here's some pics of my current setup. I love the look and the ride!
My Fleet:
'15 Ford Fusion AWD Titanium 2.0 Tutbo
'14 Lincoln MXZ AWD 2.0 Turbo
'14 Nissan Pathfinder AWD SL
'05 Pontiac Vibe AWD
thanks for the pic, looks really nice. I bought mine used with 18s on it. I don't care for the rims it's self, I'd rather have a 5 five spoke 18 looking rim, but then the ride might not be good with 18s. right now the tires are noisy and rides harsh. it's hard to know for sure because I have the continetial tires on it 225/40/18 and I know there not a very high quaility tire. it would be nice if I had a high grade quaility tire in a 18 on it. just to see how much better it rides. before I commit to putting tires on the 17 inch rims. but I know me if I don't like the look of the 17s. I'll be buying 18s and another set of tires. maybe I'll have one set for the winter and another for the summer. again...thanks for the vibe pic nice looking. here's some pics of mine....it came with all the spoilers on it. I took the clading off to repair and repainted, but still may keep them off.
