Has anyone on here tried one of these yet? I'm thinking about getting the HD Radio Add-on kit since they are so cheap on Ebay and was just curious on how the reception is. How about ease of installation? I have never done anything with any of my stereo's in any car I have owned. Always used stock.Thanks.

I have the Visteon HDZ300. So far, I'm not very happy with it, but according to others who have it, I'm the only one having issues. lol I have it working on my CarPC. The reception is anything but really good, and unless the HD station is local, you keep fading in and out of HD, which sounds bad. That is, after I wait awhile for ANYTHING to tune in. Most of the time, for the first 10-15 min., I get static. I may buy another one to see if maybe I got the one bad one. Dunno. If I didnt have the CarPC installed and wanted HD, I'd get a complete HU with HD built in.

I had a person also respond on a local forum who is using that same one and their reception is great! That is the brand/model I was looking at getting. We'll see what kind of deal I can get.

OK, so I might getting be the Visteon HD Zoom add-on unit and was wondering what I need to do for the install. This is my first time doing anything to any car stereo in any car I have owned. I have always only used OEM. Am I able to access the back of the oem stereo from under the dash or do I need to pull out the oem stereo to access the Antenna plug in? Also, is there a particular wire that I can tap for power when ignition is turned on only? Here is the one I'm getting: http://www.evisteon.com/prod_s...shtmlSpec sheet: http://www.evisteon.com/prod_s...t.pdfThanks!

You need to get behind the radio. I would make the connection for power and ground to the wire for the OEM radio. You need to unplug the ant. from the OEM, plug it into the HD then use the 'jumper' any. wire to go from the HD to the radio. Then you need to connect the RCA plugs on the HD unit to an amp or something for sound.

This sounds like for one person they're doing better.
