Thinking about buying friends Pheonix

Post by Lancer »

It's a 3/4 size Chinese made 125cc Honda CBR 1000 replica. Only problem is that my friend has had a hard time getting it registered at the DMV. He's asking $900 for it. I think it would be cool to use it for riding to work and tooling around town. It will go to about 65mph.There's suposed to be tons of aftermarket stuff for the engine like a big bore kit, bigger carb, and electronics to make it go almost 100mph. Road America is just 5 minutes from my parents house and they always have bike and other clubs racing there. His problem with the DMV is that this bike is not on there 'list' of streetable vehicles. I think he said he'd have to jump through some hoops to get it registered. Any idea's on how to do that? It's got all the light's and blinkers and it's bigger than most of the scooters running around here?Think I should? Here's some pics. My friends is yellow w/ cool graphics and a kick start. This pic shows the size difference with a full sized bike. This sorta gives an idea of the size, too.

That doesn't look anything like the 1000RR... ok... it kind of does... they could call it the 100RR

I wouldn't buy it if you can't get it registered.
