Myspace users...how to stop the spambots?

Is this normal? I've had my account for one week. The barrage of messages (spambots?) just started today. I've tried setting profile to be viewed only by my friendlist, and only friendlist view me as online, but I'm STILL getting them? HELP!

Thanks! I did the save privacy settings but it still didn't work. I had to do it over and over and over again and again until finally it worked-NO MORE SPAM! My co-worker says go to Facebook too, LOL.
