dealer installed alarm

Well,I'm about to plink down some hard bucks on an Abyss Vibe.The vehicle,that was located,has,just about all options.One of the missing,is the factory alarm.Is there anyone else out there,who is/was alarmless,and what have you done to rectify the option?Did you have an alarm installed by the dealer or someone else.Or,have you decided against any alarm.

According to http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=3053 , all Vibe's come with the alarm module. Therefore, it shouldn't be too difficult to add the alarm in, if you decide that you need/really want it.Although I didn't go looking for the security system, it was on there. I haven't needed it yet !

I added my own alarm system myself. I didn't want to pay the astronomical price of the factory alarm. I spend $150 for a remote engine car starter and alerm combo.

I put my own alarm in as detailed here http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2154 Major pain in the *(&^$ to do w/o the wiring info which is in the above thread now.Sub's alarm is detailed here http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1705 If it is possible to plug in a factory system, that is the way I would go now I have gone through installing an aftermarket one.Good luck.
