Looks like I need to replace my 2004 Moon & Tunes Stereo with an aftermarket one. The front channels on my amp died. GMPartsDirect.com has a replacement for $375.00. I figure I could buy a replacement system for that much, so the big question. What aftermarket HU do you think is the best for the job?My requirements would be:Keep same OEM speakers (4 speakers and 2 tweeters)As much power as possible without blowing the speakersAux input jack for MP3 playerUSB input for mempry stickClock (cause the OEM goes with the stock HU)Also if you recommend any particular vendor?Any recommendations are appreciated!Jim
Check my other thread, this is the 700 model though, a little more money but you get the USB up front. I have mine with the ipod interface so I can control it from the remote provided now.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=34071
Well, you could go new factory amp, or get a used factory amp.... If you go aftermarket, you will have to bypass the amp alltogether, which means a bit more wiring, but if you are crafty, you can with the new HU, down to where the amp is and pick up all the wires there for a much easier install... And ou could go double DIN like whelan suggested, that is if you want to attract theves... He lives in Marthas Vineyard or something, so he doesn't worry much... lol
(removed) Martha's Vineyard. I have been there many times but don't live there. I'm on the SW shoreline of CT. Very little to worry about in my town though you are correct.
