Warm spot on stering wheel cover

Post by rdnzl »

On my 09 I nitice that on the air bag "pouch" or whatever you call it, that is on the steering wheel, there is a spot on the left side that is warm when I drive. Why is that? Is is something to do with the air bag system?

I'm not quite sure, but i haven't noticed that on mine yet. On my way to work tomorrow i will check it out.Since we are on the topic of noticing things. Do you have an automatic? If so when you put it in manual does yours automatically start at gear 4 no matter what? I'm not sure if that is a problem or not, but it would seem that it should start at 1 at rest. Instead it is always at 4 unless i change it.

Is that something to be concerned about?

Were you parked in the sun, or running a heater?

Driving down the freeway with the AC on. I noticed that just to the right of the radio controls, the "pad" has a warm area.

Just DTR lights on.I noticed another small warm spot on the right side of the dash, by the passenger airbag. It must be a sensor or something.
