RE: Weapon-R intake Systems

Post by canadavibegt »

There are several threads related to this. I was reading one and saw a post with a link to a dyno test of several Intake manufacturers. In the tests this intake was king..... Gave increases and over several areas of the rpm range. The test was done using a honda SIR (i think). They do make an intake for the Matrix does not say if it is for the XR or XRS. Has anyone used these filters. And any comments on them.here's a link http://www.weapon-r.com/intakes.htmlthanks

They are crap, very cheaply made. My friend bought one, and i think it drained horsepower. It is a very crappy imitaion of AEM or Injen.

i been waiting to answer this on for a while.i wanted to buy the total could air setup for a while.so i did some research.while weapon r has a bad reputation for crappy intakes in the past. the new ones are different. originaly they had semiuniversal intakes with crappy adaptors missing lines holes etc. the new designed is one piece specifically engineered for each car. as far as horsepower i have a magazine article that tested one out for 7hp. around the general area for intakes considering it is a short ram.but it all depend on the car.not even two vibes with same intakes will make exactly the same horsepower.tossup.. however make note that there intakes are plastic.some people dont like plastic. but the stock is plastic so once again tossup! now as to why im not sporting one on my vibe right now? i wanted te kit with the cold air box and ram air kit. the hose they use for the ram air kit is very cheap dryer hose.but i have some good flexible weatherproof metal hose that i was going to replace that with.anyway i went to thier site and they have it listed for 330.00 but no part number and incorrect picture. i thought mabey its not out yet. so i emailed them 4 times. no answer called them several times no answer. i tried some online retailers but they said they couldnt help without the part number .and they dont get answered either. i sent a letter, and i think you can figure out what happened. its like the company doesnt exist anymore.now there is one company... just do a weapon r intake search. that did have the part number for just the intake.and i could have bought the separate ram air kit.but it doesnt come with the metal cold air box and that what made me want it in the first place.(check out the rsx setup it looks tight while all other intakes for the rsx just have the filter just out there in the middle of the engine)anyway that my story. oh wait i also was going to buy a k&n short ram (heard nothing but good about these) a arospeed front mount intake(the ones that look like an intercooler) an connect the two to make a ramair setup. but now im just going to get the slp ram air hood.(i really like ram air hehe)now im finished... i think... oh wait!!! rant, rant ,rant.......
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!
