Can foglights be added to 2009 Vibe Base?

Post by Firescooby »

One of the Vibe's we're looking at is a base without foglights. Just wondering if they can be affordably added?

It's hard to say how affordable or easy. They are a $115 option on an 09 Vibe. That tells me that everything is probably pre wired at the factory and all you would need is the fogs and grill inserts. I guarantee you will pay much more to buy the parts from Pontiac afterward. You could go with an aftermarket set as well. It would require cutting the grill inserts and installing a switch. The cheapest and easiest solution would be to find an 09 that has them. A good aftermarket kit would cost $100+ and you have to install them.

Plus, does the stalk on the left side of the steering wheel have an option (symbol) to turn on the fog lights? An aftermarket switch and wiring can easily be done, but it will not look OEM. Price out the parts individually from Pontiac first and see if you want to go that route, can always purchase 1 part every month or so if you are not in a hurry.Easiest, most economical, and most aesthetic way to get fog lights is to take Nygiantzz1 advice and purchase a Pontiac Vibe with fog lights, the dealer could always locate one with the options you desire.

I think that this would be a popular after market accessory. Kit Should Included-Factory replacement black plastic exterior panels with common fog light holes. -Fog-lights -Switch -wire-fuse-instructions on how to either share a fuse with another electrical component in your car or what is the safest items to tap into. just a thought, I think that this would make a awesome kit they would sell a ton of them because most people that purchased the 1.8 did so because they wanted to save on gas not because they did not care about the looks of the car.

Totally go with NY's thoughts. For the price of the option, you would spend as much if not more on the kit and installation, easily. Not to mention it would not come with as good a warranty coverage. If you purchase from the dealer separately, they will come with detailed instructions. Even if they cannot find one with the option, they could always install the kit on the one you are looking at. If you are financing the car for lets say 5 years, thats $1.92 a month. If you are purchasing outright and buying a car that is in the teen thousands, whats another $115. I am sure it won't break the budget.
