My New 2009 Vibe

Post by nygiantzz1 »

I went to the dealer last friday to get my tires balanced on my 06 Vibe. I had been considering an 09 for the last couple weeks and decided to take one for a test drive while I was there. I ended up buying one. I picked it up Monday. I bought an 09, Ultra White, 2.4L w/ 5 speed auto trans, preferred package, AC, fog lights, 17" aluminum wheels and a roof rack. When I considered all the safety features built in (ABS, Stabiltrak, Onstar) and the 100,000mile warranty, I had to do it. I lowered my car payment by $16.00/month too! They gave me a lot more than I expected for my 06. The ride is smoother, acceleration is better, the tap shifter is cool. The interior is comfortable and quiet. The stock stereo is actually impressive to a point, at high volumes it washes out, but overall pretty good. The only thing I gave up was the sunroof, but I never really used it in the 06. Anyway, here's some pics:

Not bad, except for those headrests. What, they wouldn't take the other car unless you took them with you????

My wife and kids are loving the new car smell, I can't smell it or anything else. I was in a car accident in 1985 and fractured my skull. I haven't smelled anything since then. If I had to lose any of my senses, I'm glad it was smell.

I'm starting to get '09 envy.

Jim, does the roof rack cost extra. Is it part of some appearance package. I noticed that not all cars have them.

The roof rack cost an extra $345, the only way to get it standard is to buy the AWD. Did you see Kelly's photoshop in this post? Awesome!

It sounds like you got a great deal on the 09 and lowered your car payment by $16 too. A win-win situation.

I paid 17,520 plus tax. Sticker was 20,370, I owed 10,500 on the 06 and they gave me 13,350 trade in. I thought of your Vibe(Stormtrooper) when I picked it up.
