After reading this forum for years I've finally decided to join after enjoying all the great insight, reviews, and opinions you all have offered. Pictures will soon follow, but for now this is my new Vibe story...I jumped on the bandwagon in August 2002 when I purchased a new Neptune Vibe from a local Pontiac dealership outside Atlanta. It was quite a five years and it held its value, but after starting to suffer a few mechanical issues I traded it in last summer. I did miss it as gas prices began to rise and driving in Atlanta traffic each day took its toll.I was glad to hear about the new redesign and looked into maybe purchasing another when a lease on another car was due this fall. I test drove a GT and with its more powerful and quieter 2.4L I was sold right away. I drove up to Ohio a week ago to visit family and look into buying/leasing a new Vibe and all went well for the most part. Having a few friends working for a dealership and getting GMS I was looking to land a good deal. Just in time GM just contacted me to let me know that they'd wipe out my last two payments on my lease and give me $2,000 down towards a new purchase. With there not being too many incentives on the 2009 Vibe I figured this would be the best I can get currently. I searched the dealer inventory for either a new red or black one and they had both. I leaned towards black because my other car is the exact same color of red. I found one just stickered at under $22,000 and that was with just about every factory option. Lease prices were horrible at the time so I looked to buy. We sat down, worked out a great price and got the lowest rate offered at the time(5.9%). With GMS and loyalty rebate I was looking at a price around $18.000. I started to sign the paperwork and the sales guy comes back with a blank look and said my car was just sold. Within seconds some lady who looked out of place in the car drove it off while I watched. She didn't even want it detailed, just bought it and drove off. Oh I was pissed to say the least!! Oh and that red one I mentioned was also sold the day before. Luckily they located another one about 65 miles away with just one less option(alarm) and they had it to me the next day. In the end it all worked out well and had a great ride back down to Atlanta from Northeast Ohio. Got just a shade over 30mpg averaging about 80mph. The seats felt comfortable the entire ride and the acceleration was soooo much better than my 2003 Vibe while I went up and down mountain roads in West Virginia and Virginia. What was most strange were the interior lights at night. To not see the all Pontiac red dash for the first time in my life made me keep staring at the numerous colors spread across the dash while I drove. It does make it feel more like the Toyota that lies underneath. When I got out I had to go take a glimpse of the patented Pontiac front end and grille to remind myself it was still a Pontiac. Now that I rode a book I'll go work on getting a few pics posted.

Welcome to one of the nicest forums around, some great people here. 86 the dealer sticker on the hatch and enjoy your new love/hate relationship with black paint. I grew unlovingly to the all red of my 03 and purchased an 04 instrument cluster and said goodbye forever to the red. Enjoy both the new Vibe and this site
Had another guy today compliment the new Vibe when getting in after lunch. He was driving the Scion "box" as I call it and said he looked at the Vibe a year ago, but went with the Scion. He couldn't believe the changes they made so he walked around the car a few times to check it out. Again, he pointed out the damn tires and rims, you're right scooter!
in my area i don't see many GT...i think i've only seen the new vibe gt once a few months back...i saw a few base models and it's weird...the car look so much more smaller when it's driving in the street than when i'm standing next to it =/
