Updating the stock stereo, adding subs, ect...

Post by jgvibe »

I am looking into updating my stock speakers and maybe adding a small sub-woofer. I have researched the topic and Crutchfield says the speakers are 6 ½ inch P-fit style speakers. They did not offer any same fit speakers for the Vibe.Has anyone taking the plung and tried this yet? What did you do and how do you like it?

I don't know what "P" fit speakers are, but any 6 1/2 or 6 3/4 speakers will work. Fronts can't have a mounting depth of more than about 2 5/16", but the rears can be over 3" deep. For a step-by-step speaker replacement see:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=785Later,Carl

I just got back from the stereo store( Kenwood 4019 head-JL TR650csi speakers) everything dropped straight in. No funky special hardware, harnesses or brakets. Sounds GREAT!!
