I have experienced this first hand. at that time there was no way to know how old the tires were but were at least 5 years old with the vehicle they were on and were OEM. AND it was the third defective tire on that car.I also remember a simialr story to that one that occured around 10 years ago. telling about how to read the "born-on" date code.I better go check my current tires and I for sure will insist on new tires when I swap out the RS-A's to Triple-Treads as soon as the rebate check arrives from the irs.
K-9,.....Uhhh not new tires afterall. Thanks for sharing this it is new info. for me about which code tells the date a tire was mfr. Buyers beware - I'm gonna go check my tires and email that video to family and friends. It's so sad about the boys that died.
