is there a good way to keep dash from picking up lint etc. mine is black and has a rubber like material that seems hard to keep clean

I am interested in this subject also. I haven't cleaned mine yet because I didn't want to leave streaks all over,

How about a dashcover (carpet) mine does a good job of camoflauging the lint I'd attach a pic, but you have to wait 'til after my next payday...

Just keep wiping it down with a damp lint-free rag (like diaper cloth). The vinyl dash (that's the material) should be fine.
