Keith, if you REALLY want to do it right, you should consider some closed cell foam (Second Skin Overkill or RAAMat Ensolite) to apply over the matting, it REALLY helps cut down on even more highter frequency noise, and it's 100% easier to put down than the matting, trust me on this one... Your gonna hate yourself for a week, after putting all that in the car, it's a real PITA... after that week though, you'll be very happy... lol..

I have FatMat on the entire floor and closed cell foam on the doors and hatch. Keith, yours should be like soundproof room when your done. It'll be so quiet you would even hear yourself talking inside...lol. Good luck with the install. The install of the rear seat was the biggest PITA for me.

turbo&auto aka. Nick has offered his help. He has torn apart enough trixes that he says he can gut the car in about 20mins. LOL I hope to have everything done next weekend. The foam won't show up till early next week.How much foam did you buy B?I called the company and they suggested either 3-4yards. So i got 4. I will be happy with just the doors and some of the front.

You know where the foam helped me the most, the roof, under the headliner.. I had a section of flat, unsuppoerted metal that was ~18x36" up there... I know you aren't going that far, but it's something to consider... Best pic I could get, it was like a darn drum skin, prior to my work... (this is before the foam obviously)after..

just a small update.... got the entire roof done, and most of the floor done up to the front seats, all matted and foamed.Still need to do the doors and under the front seats.We stopped only because i didn't order enough foam .so i need to order more.All in all, we gutted from the back seats back and the side pillers and roof, vacuumed all the hair out of the car, wiped every section with denatured alc. Installed the matt and the foam, reinstalled all the trim in 5hrs. I don't know what you had such trouble with B.. the back seats came out with out a hitch. The hardest part we had was finding all the bolt holes after we covered them up.

I just did the roof, floor pan and rear fender of my 08 vibe with Damplifier pro. I nned too do my doors and lift gate still. I didn't take any photos, I didn't think about it until I had the front half done and the carpet and front seat in.

I must have missed this thread somehow.I want to do this,but the one thing that's put me off is the weight.How much does this stuff weigh,and is there a light weight type mat available?I really want to cut down the x-haust noise inside the cabin.I don't wanna loose all 50 horses that I have either

I got two rolls as you can see and the shipping weight was 47lbs... one roll is about 24lbs then. One roll will be enough so you can do the entire floor.Two rolls will be enough to do the floor, doors, roof and anything else you can think off LOLeat one less meal kev and you can compensate for the extra weight.

Woot.....got my trunk done yesterday.Just used the fatmat extreme,but judging by the knock test,it did a good enough job for me.Oh and WTH is this thingy,looks like a vent,somewhere little critters can get in.

Ever close more than one door exactly at the same time on another car and one door don't close all the way. Those vents are ment to prevent that. They are also there to help with the wind noise when only one window is open, but they are in the wrong location for the second reason.still noisy as all get out.

All of this looks wonderful. I am really researching everything I need for this. I travel a lot, and I have a nice sound system... I would benefit from this 100-200 dollar mod very well. Anyone from around the dallas area that wants to waste an entire day helping someone you dont know? lol

The point of a mass loader (mat deadener) is to ADD MASS... take the mass away and take away the deadening properties... I will be applying Second Skin Spectrum to my wheel wells and firewall/floor, this fall... lol..
