Would have cost a bit more but the savings in gas that I now have lost would have ballanced out in a few yearsKeith, you wouldn't reap the same benefit from LS as you would a traditional mat deadener... not at the thickness they are calling for.. Would there be a difference, YES, would it be the same amount of deadening, not likely... The point of a mass loader (mat deadener) is to ADD MASS... take the mass away and take away the deadening properties... Really, for people wanting to just quiet things down, Mass loaders aren't really the way to go... MLV or Mass Loaded Vinyl (something like Second Skin Luxury Liner) would do you far better... MLV is a "blocker" which forcefully BLOCKS sound... Mat material adds mass, lowering the resonant frequency of the panel it's applied to.. Lowers it down to something less intrusive and noticeable, but noise STILL gets through.. If it's for audio, a combination of all 3 types of deadening would be IDEAL... Use the liquid on the outside of the car, firewall, wheel wells, and floor... Mat the inside and then apply MLV over top... Sandwiching the metal between 2 different densities of deadener.. I will be applying Second Skin Spectrum to my wheel wells and firewall/floor, this fall... lol..
