Do not use ZMax products! Absolute junk!

Post by ToolGuy »

You can see this junk advertised on The Speed Channel as I have with shows such as Truck U and Two Guys Garage on Sundays. The product has many false claims and my favorite is "it cleans Oxygen Sensors"! LOL!!!! What a joke! This article states false claims as well... http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2001/02/zmax1.shtm

Thanks for the heads up.From the article..." tests cited to support performance claims actually demonstrated that motor oil treated with zMax produced more than twice as much bearing corrosion than motor oil alone, and that the three different products - an engine additive, a fuel line additive and a transmission additive - were all actually tinted mineral oil."Nice.

I've always been skeptical of oil additives. I feel safer with Pennzoil Platinum and regular oil changes.

I don't like oil additives. Most of them thin the viscosity and can actually cause seal seepage and leaks...

I remember seeing their adds a long time ago and thought at that time it was to good to be true and shure enough it was worse than to good to be true.

Is this an oil additive? I'd be afraid to put anything else in there besides oil. Yikes!
