RADIO UPGRADE RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE

Post by antiquexray »

I have the base radio in my '07. I'd like to upgrade it so I have an AM/FM, CD, MP3, and USB. I also need a rear Aux In for my Sirius. Is there a viable option? Also, I've read in the forums that messing with a radio can do strange things to airbags, tone alerts, etc. Should this be a concern? Thanks.

In the Vibe it's not a problem. There's a lot of choices that will have the features you're looking for. I'm a big fan of the Kenwood Excelon series.

In the Vibe the airbags etc are not integrated into the OEM stereo. Assuming that's because Toyota doesn't use that practice.

A great place to do your research is http://www.crutchfield.com You should be able to find about anything you want, if you decide to purchase from them, they send you EVERYTHING needed for the install, including harness, dash kit and instructions. They are also factory authorized for most of the products they sell, so the warrentee is still valid (unlink places like Fleabay) they are a bit more expensive, but like I said, you get everyhting needed for install and factory authorized, which these days can go a long way for you if you have problems down the road whith the unit...
