Hi everyone, I'm new here on the forums. I was looking around trying to find some info on my '05 Vibe. I tried the search engine here and I'm just not all that car savvy. That's my husbands job. Anyways, how can I tell what engine I have in my Vibe? I see lots of zz type numbers all over the place. I don't have a GT, its just a regular automatic one. By the VIN code my engine code is an 8. Don't really know what that means. Well long story short, my husband got a 07 Eclipse GT and put some short ram air filter thingy on it, and now he's almost getting the same gas mileage as I am. But he has a V6 with tons of power. What would one of these things do for my vibe? would i get tons better gas mileage? Would the power be a lot different? Will it throw any codes? And last but not least, which one works best for the Vibe? These are all the questions my hubby told me to ask, although he pulled up several different ones for this car on his sites, Injen, Cosmos, and K&N. But they all are for diff engines so I don't know which one to get. Any help would be appreciated. thx
Arguing on the internet is like the Special Olympics....Even if you win, you're still retarded
Welcome to GenVibe! You have a Toyota 1ZZ-FE 1.8L 4 cyl. engine 126hp w/DBW(drive by wire - meaning no cable throttle)A short Ram will get you a few more HP, a couple more MPG's, shouldn't throw any codes, Cosmo Racing Short Ram (cheapest priced brand name intake for the Vibe) works on the 1ZZ-FE engine with DBW.Look here for more info: http://www.cosmoracing.com
