Her grounding prevented her from going on a school trip.boo-hoo hoo. What kind of precedent does this set for the rest of her life?If I disobey a rule, and get a punishment, I can just take them to court? The judge needs his head slapped, and the girl too. This is just ridiculous.http://www.nationalpost.com/ne...97169Family counselling may help them.

That is a bunch of b.s. I can't believe that even even made it to court. The judge needs to be taken out back and shot for making that ruling. Is it even possible to punish children anymore? As a parent you will make decisions everyday that will change your child's life and there is no way to know if it is for good or bad, but you do your best. 5 years ago I gave my 1 year old son up for adoption because I knew someone else could give him more than I could at the time. I miss my son more than anything. Should I be punished for that? Should I be sued for trying to do what is best for my child?

::SMACK:: thats for the little girl, her mother, the little girls lawyer, the judge, and whoever else thinks that this is righti would beat my child if she kept disobeying me
Quote »The girl's mother allowed her to go on the trip, but because the school wouldn't allow the girl to go unless both parents consented, the girl, with the mother's support took legal action against her father.According to Ms. Beaudoin, the judge ruled that denying the trip was unduly severe punishment. The father, who is appealing the decision, was "devastated" by the ruling, and is refusing to take his daughter back "because he has no authority over her." And what does this do to the father? I have a feeling this was a move by the mother in the custody battle, and I think she won... this father going to want nothing to do with his child.

OK I read the whole story. The 12 year old did not go and contact a lawyer herself. Apparently the mother was letting the child go, the father wasn't and the school needed both parents consent. So the mother out of malice towards the husband whome she is divorcing or what not contacted a lawyer to slap him around a bit.Either way, the mother is a crackhead who needs to put her child first instead of her own personal vendettas. If dad says this, then that is the ruling, and vice versa with mom.I remember when I was young I would get mad at my father and say something stupid like I'm gonna call the police or some crap. Over him taking away my bike and me being upset. He would hand me the phone and calmly say "here you go, oh wait, let me dial" And I would freak out and beg him not too. LOL. Of course this didn't happen often as one quick look from my Dad ensured the messing around would stop.
So what exactly did she win?I side with the father who wants nothing to do with her. He's right. he has no say over her it seems so why have anything to do with her. Kids these days don't have to answer to anyone now.
