Gas Gone Wild!!!

Post by BlueCrush »

Yup, it's official. My favorite gas station which is usually the lowest price in my area has reached the $4/gallon (regular) milestone. I'm sooo glad I have the Vibe!!! Funny story: When I first started working a my job in January a couple of the truck drivin' machine operators laughed and thought my car was cute. I said, it is an awesome car, you won't be laughing when gas reaches $4/gallon. They were like "Yeah, Whatever!" Then today I came back from lunch and the same guys were asking me about the Vibe (price, mileage, handling). I told them all about it and said "Who's laughing now!!!" Hahaha, Sucka's!

I was in Gatineau (just across the river from Ottawa) yesterday and the price jumped from $1.29/litre to $1.42/litre within 2 hours. That's a price hike of 49 cents/US gallon up to $5.37/gal.

My wife was approached by a guy yesterday at the gas station. He wanted to know about the Vibe, fuel mileage and room. She said it is great, loads of room and she gets 29-30 miles city on a regular basis and it is paid for. He said he was thinking about getting out of the car he had for a Vibe. My wife said well if gas was not like it was she rather be driving what you have. He said yeah up until you fill it up and pay its car payment! He was driving a Chrysler 300C which my wife really likes. I dig that car too.

Yeah Chicago is expensive... Kenosha is mostly $4.09, but I've actually seen a few bounce down to $3.99 in the past couple days... back to $4.09 now though...

I'll take the "CUTE" comments from my friends. Since I'm still new to the Vibe, and just got out of a 2500 Diesel. I just get a nice little smile, when I see Diesel @ $4.75 a gallon.

I saw a few stations at $4.09 for a couple days, but they have dropped back to $3.99. So we have yet to pay $4+ - although I'm sure it won't be long.
