Paid Time Off...whoops!

Post by Whelan »

So I acquired some PTO from work and saved it for the upcoming wedding and honeymoon. I am takin two days prior off then the whole week for the HM. After that I still have a lot of days left over and can only carry 15 to the next year. Here is the general breakdown. I got a good laugh with my manager when he went over this with me.-179 hours available plus 2 floating days. (35 days total PTO)-After the HM I will still have 103 hours left to use up (12 days PTO)-That will leave me with the max to rollover, LOL.I realize I will use some for the move to the house and such but that is still ridiculous PTO time and I'm psyched I have so much. -

I feel your 'pain' lol! Between holidays, personal days and comp time I accrue, I never get to take all my vacation time. I looked the other day and I still have over 3 weeks vacation left, that's not including the 3 weeks I've already managed to take off this year already!! I can only carry 400 vacation hours over, and several of my co-workers have been forced to 'use it or lose it' in recent years.Plus, if I were ever sick or needed surgery, i have over 3 months of sick time built up (that doesn't have a ceiling, it just keeps accruing forever.)Now, if only I had $$ to go DO stuff on my time off, I'd be set

i had an insane amount of PTO when I was working for Clearwire. I never took it off because even if I was out of town, I was still working and making phone calls, making sales, etc. So I refused to claim it when I was still producing. My boss said that was fine as long as I made sales. So, when I quit a year ago, I had over a month of PTO and they had to pay me for it all.
