1966 Shelby Cobra

Post by engineertwin2 »

So, a co-worker of mine is about 5 yrs from retirement. He's wanting to build a car when he retires and wants build a kit Shelby Cobra from American Iron. The company rents the car out to potential customers. Mike was awesome enough to go to lunch with me (I treated since he treated me to the ride)...soooo much fun. The rental only has a 302, but Mike is considering a 427 if he were to do it.Best lunch ever...Me in the driver's seat

They don't get much better than that... My friend's dad had one with a balanced / blueprinted 302, putting out about 400hp at the wheels, car weighs I think 1600lbs, We could pull the front tires off the ground if the back tires didn't break loose. crazy ride, wicked fast...

Agreed, the 427 would be much scarier. The 302 was crazy quick enough as it was...
