Tom Milner said.No one was hurt in the crash, which ended with the suspect's vehicle striking a utility box and a fire hydrant. The chase started 12:10 a.m. near Dairy Avenue and Noel Street in Newark when an officer tried to stop a 2008 Pontiac Vibe for vehicle code violations, including speeding, Milner said. But the driver failed to stop and eventually got onto Interstate 880 and headed north, the lieutenant said. The officer chased the vehicle, at times reaching speeds up to 80 and 90 mph, up I-880 to Industrial Parkway in Hayward, where the driver of the Pontiac continued to flee. The officer and suspect vehicle then circled the area on city streets, and ended up on Tennyson Street, where an officer from another agency used a spike strip to deflate one of the Pontiac's tires, Milner said. The driver then tried to flee on foot, but was eventually arrested, the lieutenant said.I know it was one of you!

This actually isn't far from me. The Vibe is built here in Fremont, and Newark is right across the freeway from Fremont.
