Question about the use of the Scosche FAI-3A.

Let me see if I have this straight...you need to install a Scosche FAI-3A to be able to use the factory monsoon amp (I'm assuming there's an amp somewhere...I just got the car!) with an aftermarket head unit? Everything I read about the Scosche FAI-3A says that it's for installing factory stereos to aftermarket amps...exactly the opposite of what I want to do.

The Scosche FAI-3A is used to intall a aftermarket HU to a factory amp. I have one installed in my car.
