ipod2car: Why all this talk of 12V blue/white power wires

Post by wmvibe »

Am planning on buying the ipod2car, and want to know what I'm getting myself into. Am not afraid of splicing wires etc (though I am a bit color blind), but when you read the materials by the ipod2car vendor, they seem to indicate its a painless plug-in. They talk only about that 24-pin (?) plastic connector, nothing about extra cabling for power, etc. Am I missing something, or are you guys playing with the power just for kill switches, etc?Glad to know theres plenty of information out here if I need it though! Thanks,

welcome!the main harness plugs in and you just have two wires left to tap. 1. ground which you can just put to a screw behind the headunit 2. power 12v blue/white which you can use a alligator clamp to tap into so its painless.
