I guess you could get into a psychology lesson here. But it really is crazy to think about. I mean for me the Matrix stands out more than the Vibe, go figure. But think of the car I REALLY want in the next 3 years when I own my Matrix. I want my Pontiac G8 GT in white w/ the V8 sunroof, premium package and 19"s. I realize fuel is going up, I have always been driving 4 cyls. and been happy with them. But for some reason when I heard of this car, saw it for the first time in the magazine and looked it up onlie, I was awestrucik. It just screamed drive me! And the fact that in 3 years they will be coming up from leases and being traded in means that one would easily fall in my price range of around the mid 20's. What better vehicle to have, granted I would need a daily crap box for work, maybe not though. But who cares. I just am pushing to make sure I have the means to this car when the time comes. It's sexy, it's powerful, its suddel in looks but catches your eye. In the last two days two different friends of mine came up to me telling me they saw one on the road and it was just a great looking awesome car. I mean one of my friends drives a 3 series coupe and 67 camaro SS. The other knows a decent amount about cars. And for them to notice a Pontiac was a really big thing. It just shows that this car will get noticed and even 3 years from now it will be a looker.Long Live the G8! But as I said, it just really pulls me to it, just like you were pulled to your Vibe or to your MS3's, or Subies. It's fun to think about.
kind of on this same topic I've recently been having is...You know how in high school you all had your clicks (jocks, nerds, etc.)and you were so happy to get out of high school and away from all that... and then as you get older you think, why was I so mean to that kid in high school blah blah blah... well you still do it, and you don't even know you are.. you just do it in different ways.. for us car guys... that could be... "Look at that (insert car here) I can't believe they would put those wheels/exhaust/body kit/paint etc... on that car... what a retard." I've found that I've been trying to catch my tongue on things like this.. b/c who am I to judge? I drive a Vibe.. I'm sure there's a TON of people out there that are like "Why the hell would you put wheels on that." Just like my bike... I use to ride around and be like, my bike's better than that one (newer etc) but honestly, I've come to the conclusion... I could buy a new bike (Ducati 1098 ohhhh) but... why? the bike I have works for me, cost's me nothing (or very little) and serves it's purpose.. Maybe I'll buy a new one in a few years, but my bike can more than exceed anything I could do on it, and I would have to go to riding school (track days) if I even wanted to come semi-close to use the 1098 like it was designed for.ok, so maybe a hair off topic, but still the same when you put it into the "better than others" category.
LOL. yes, i think someone was on the bottle a little much last night? but really, I look back on my own tastes in vehicles and mods and think (removed) was I thinking??? But at the time, I liked it and loved how it looked. We all move on, we all progress (some digress) to different things as we find our priorities tend to change in life. What was once important to me is now not as important or something else fits the needs that I didn't have before. I've now moved back to a hatch and love it. I missed having the utility of my Vibe GT and when I think about it, as much grief as my car buddies give me, I loved that little car. Sure it didn't do everything I wanted it to, but there really isn't a car/truck/vehicle out there that does. I can't have a sports car that has all the utilities of a 4X4 truck that I can still autox or get decent fuel economy. Going back to a hatch I feel like I'm back to my roots. I still have the sports car/rally car feel for autox and motorsports that are important to me now, as well as the utility of awd, turbo (power), and most important, CARGO SPACE!!! If only I could get 30 mpg hwy in the car, have a true DSG CVT transmission (electronic clutch) than I'd be in true heaven! oh, and all for less than $30K!

It's fun to think about.I got my first HUGE complememt the other day from a guy in a G8 GT...!!!! I was comming up the on ramp behind him, he took off, I took off, we had about 2/3 of a mile before we entered another round-a-bout toget on a different section of highway... Well there was construction and traffic was backed up a little, I got in and let him in, in front of me.... well, then he dipped back out of the line and waved me forward, got next to me with his window down and yelled over how much he liked the car... I had to do the same of course, cause it was a sexy beast and I know what he was rockin under the hood.... It was nice...
I agree with you on the G8! That car is tough! My local dealer has a white one on the lot closest to the street. Someone was looking at it when I drove by today. I could drive one for work but I do not want that large of a payment and of course feeding it for fuel as a daily driver would not work since I am in my car a few times a week for work.
