WI on a vibe?

Post by Twizted-Vibe »

Could you use water injection on a vibe gt? or is it only useful on turbo vehicles. all the kits i see have a boost switch and are used on turbo cars. ive heard about great gains in hp and gas so im really intresed in doin this.

theres a lot of members with water/meth injection. Lancer has it. I forgot the two main companies that make them. IMO for a NA car its only helpful if you have a ECM to tune otherwise it would be worthless as you dont know your engine temps and a/f. It is good for a FI car, turbo or SC, but again like only if you can tune for it and you arent running the stock supercharger setup.

well you can run it with out a tune but how would you know what your engine is doing if you dont have all the meters and read outs? I know the snowperformance ones are real good, they can activate at wot etc. It all depends how you want it to run.

Not sure what you mean by meters and readouts.Using meth injection is also an octane booster as well as cooling agent.I didn't say it was the optimum thing to do,but guys are running them on n/a cars. But tuning for it is the right way to do it.

I have one from Snow Performance on my base with a SC. it is supposed to not cause any issues, however my car has been down for 3 weeks now. I had to send in the SC for repair,...it was installed 5 months ago. They would not warranty and blamed the rusted bearings and worn impellers on the water injection system and using it invalidates the warranty. There is a semi-known issue with Eaton roots SC's that were installed in Fords a while back where the coating on the impellers would wear away, they blamed that too on the water/meth injection systems, even though they could never prove it.
