Well, the car finally arrived after 9 weeks! Got it Tuesday and finally got some pics going. My wife was away with the camera, hence the delay. The pics were taken this morning, but the colour changes with different lighting. Hopefully you can catch the white/yellowish tones coming out in the sunlight. In the evening it turns more green/grey. Cloudy days it is more grey/blue. Neat I will give some driving impressions another time. It is much different than the old one.Enjoy the pics
now that's one sexy vehicle so was it worth the wait??

how did i know you were gonna say that?? i've got a question... i read on the pontiac site that the holes at the bottom of the bumper are for the intake. is there any way you can pop the hood and verify those claims??

That is a very nice color. And I LOVE the wheels!I noticed the new Vibes use a dual lighting system similar to my current Matrix. If your looking at HIDs for an upgrade I would suggest my ebay guy and getting a Xentec kit for $70. Works perfect had them for over 3 months now, never a problem. If they had a dual exhaust setup for that car it would look nice as well.
I love it, minus the tail lights and stereo set up... just little personal gripes, no worries, it's still hot... I just realized that the rear window seemed to get smaller to...?? That color is odd though, not a bad odd, just a odd color changing thing odd....lol..
Thanks for all the compliments! The car is a 5 speed and has the 2.4L engine of the AWD. It is also an upgrade in the base model. It is a shame there is no 6 speed and the old 'high strung' 1.8L from the old GT (and Celica). The 2.4L does add a ton more low end torque and is silky smooth. I have had to check to see what RPM I am at as it is so smooth!I can take more detailed pics later, and try to answer the intake question. The colour is very interesting I ordered this colour blind...not seeing it in real life, only a couple of internet pics and inaccurate colours from the Pontiac sites. Even the brochure from the dealer was way off. The colour shifting is pretty neat, and I like the idea of having a rare colour. The drive is very different from my old 2005. It is not as 'choppy' as the old one, more refined. The steering has better feel on centre and more responsive through the twisties. The suspension feels soft at first but tightens up when cornering. The engine is smooth and steady torque right the way up to redline. Not as noisy (tire and wind noise) as the '05. The car will have to break in, so I will submit more opinions as I go along. The fit and finish are much better than the old one. Better quality materials, smoother controls, etc. The stereo is really awesome for a stock car. 7 speakers with a sub, tweeters in the sail panels, 320 watts, XM, steering wheel controls...first rate...and I am an audiophile of sorts.Yep, the rims really make this car stand out. 18" on a stock car. Wow Feel free to let me know if you want any specific info or pics of the car. I will do a more 'formal' shoot and put it in the garage threads. Get it all shined up, sun shining, and a cool location
I love the color and just might get one myself. How is the ride when you compare it with your previous Vibe? How about the comfort of the driving position and seat? What options, if any, did you get that didn't come with the stock GT?
I'd personally be curious of a picture or two from the front seat looking back to check out the rear visibility compare to older models and my 05 Trix.
Congrats! That is one sweet Vibe. I love that color. That's definitely one of my first choices... I think you are right - it will be rare - especially in the GT - seems most of the ones on dealer lots are black, red, or white. Let us know how everything goes, surprises - good and bad. And oh yea, how you do on mileage! Congrats again!!!

I like the color for sure... changes a bit in the sunlight. Looking forward to more pics and more feedback as well. I'm diggin' the wheels... can I get those for my 05?

Oh now, that's a cool color! I likey! Very nice car ya got there. The cheesy color chips shown in the '09 Vibe book I picked up at the dealer do not do the color justice! It's like that color they have on the G6's and Malibus only different.

My 09 does not have the fog lamps, but it does have the ducts coming from the bumper in that area into the engine compartment. However, they are not connected to the air intake for the engine, just open to the engine compartment.I can also confirm that the key for the 09 is not chipped for security, so you can have copies made of it inexpensively.

There is less visibility but it is not all that bad once you get the hang of it. The back window is smaller as well as the small rear ones. They sacrificed that to get the look, which was worth it IMO Quote, originally posted by Houston »I love the color and just might get one myself. What options, if any, did you get that didn't come with the stock GT?I did a little blurb on the ride in this thread. At first it felt looser but tightens up as it is driven. Very smooth and comfy on the highway...more refined. The driving position still has the upright stance as the old Vibe. The GT seats are really comfy and have good side bolsters. The tranny is looser than the old one but may tighten up with time. The GT comes fully loaded, I only had to add the sunroof...$1100 here in Canada...$700 in the States. That makes no sense as the dollars are close these days. I also went manual, saving big bucks from adding the auto. Thanks again everyone for the great comments, especially about the colour It really makes the car stand out...all kinds of stares around town the last 2 days...well, that and those amazing 18" rims. Who would have thought, on a stock Vibe!!!Last comment for now, the Monsoon stereo is AWESOME! I had some new Raconteurs cranked up today and it sounded great
Sweet, sweet ride. Absolutely love that color. I saw my first '09 at my local dealer just yesterday (we're really behind here in Podunk). Gotta admit that I like it a lot better up close and personal than in most of the early pics I've seen. The one (and ONLY one!) on their lot was a silver (don't remember the name of the color) 2.4 liter automatic. I didn't sit in it or anything, as it was after hours, and I just spotted it on the lot on my way home. But I have to admit it looked sharp. But the silver '09 can't compare to your "Mystic Blue". Congratulations!

Old style center console lid. All-weather front floormats. Rear bumper fascia protector. Drawtite hitch.
Definitely going with some tint. I was also thinking about getting the upgraded pedals from the dealer. Then chopping down the shifter for some better (shorter) feel. Just some minor mods to fine tune the car. Otherwise, no complaints, very happy with the stock car (for now)
Question? noticed green valve caps on your tires are they filled with nitrogen? I saw a caddy with them sounds a like a gimmick to me but I don't know.
The new Vibes have huge front ends but the GTs look awesome. I wasn't aware that was a color option either...actually I don't know what the '09 colors are but that is a beautiful looking Vibe!
Quote, originally posted by vhoward1122 »I parked my 09 next to an 06 the other day and didn't notice a size difference. Just different grills and headlight enclosures.According to GM, the new Vibe is within an inch of the old Vibe in every dimension, although not a single piece was carried over. IMO they nailed the stying on the new one, especially the GT. The extra moldings add the right touches without being overdone.Quote, originally posted by imspace2 »Question? noticed green valve caps on your tires are they filled with nitrogen? It came that way, but I couldn't find an explanation in the manual...I will research it a bit and see.Quote, originally posted by Merzbow »The new Vibes have huge front ends but the GTs look awesome. There is the typical black, red, white, sliver, grey, and three blues...Steel Blue, which is somewhat purple, Navy Blue, and this one, Mystic Blue. Frankly, the websites dont do Mystic Blue justice, must be seen in person
That is one cool Vibe. I have read my manual and noticed several differences between the Canadian version and the US version. Specially in the instrument panel and warning lights.
Very nice! The 5 spd manual did not only save you money up front compared to forking out for an auto... it should continue to save you some serious loonies at feeding time in the long run. I still haven't gotten the chance to sit in an 09... the new seats look a lot more supportive (wanna trade? ).

The intake on the engine gets drawn from the engine compartment. The grills on either side of the fog lights are for show. It would be a very easy mod to get more direct air from behind that grill and fog light. And finally, some shots of the engine and strut bar.If anybody wants any other interesting/close up shots let me know.I have not been able to get a good sense of gas mileage yet, but will try to soon. It definitely uses more than my old base 2005 But much better performance
I am curouse if someone will/when make a bracket to mount a aftermarket headunit. Of course the automotive comparies could just make headunits with pre-outs and solve that problem for alot of people : )
I checked out the Vibes at the dealer yesterday. They had a Base in your color and I gotta say it's right up there with my favorite (bright red). I took the GT (auto) for a drive. Although it was quicker than the 1.8, it wasn't all that much quicker. Seeing the different models in person made me realize there isn't really all that much difference in appearance, either - all models look about the same. They all look good, don't get me wrong, but I'm not at all sure they look better than my Base '03.The five year warranty sounds good.

So which would you say is a more accurate depiction of the true color? I went to a local dealer that was supposed to have one in Mystic Blue on their lot on Sunday, but it was no where to be found.

Even more strange is the Canadian website, pontiac.ca, which calls it Traverse Blue Metallic and is more in line with the Toyota Blue Mica for the Matrix. My pics depict it the best so far, but I do recommend trying to see one in person, and in different lighting (sun, cloudy, night time, etc.) It does colour shift and gets a whitish, yellowy sheen when the sun hits the creases in the body. I have been thinking about getting 3 or 4 shots of the car in the same location, with the same camera settings, but in different lighting. Give me a chance to try that out.As I mentioned, I took a chance on it...ordering it without seeing it in person. It was nerve racking, but I do not regret it at all. A very, very interesting and cool colour
Hmmm. Interesting. Is it possible they are offering different colors in the US and Canada? That color on the GM Canada website looks nothing like the color on the US pontiac website.... But I guess you are right - I'll have to find one to see in person....
