Hey,Very sorry about the damage. I've had the back plastic off before and really, there isn't much as all in terms of support back there. That kinda damage doesn't seem to be unexpected. But on a slightly positive note, I've seen a handful of Vibe pics on here of totaled front end damage. You might be able to find a hatch... maybe even the same color, if very very lucky. I dunno if the cost at a junk yard would be more than your deductible but it might be worth looking for.Dave

I did something similar with a Geo Metro in 1992. I really felt embarrassed. At least it wasn't worse.

OUCH! Sorry to hear! I think the hatch is pretty much hollow so I can see why it did so much damage at very little speed.

The good news is you can get a used hatch and might not even need paint. Or paint at the very least. The would be best, just replace the entire hatch less glass of course then you have no body filler involved.

/cry, that looks painful!I'd give you the back door off my 03 shadow vibe if I could. I just got in a bad front-end wreck and totaled it ... if it weren't already god-only-knows where- in some junk yard somewhere rotting away or a 3' by 3' cube already, hah!

Ok so **UPDATES** My Vibes been in the shop since monday, and i just got the estimate yesterday. ......*drum roll*.....$2,364.43 !!!! what?!?! isnt that insanely expensive or what????? I mean, the whole hatch cant cost THAT much, right? Ugh, well full coverage insurance FTW! I only pay 1,000 deductible for mine and the others guys car. sooo....lesson learned? I think so.

*faints*That's outrageous... it's only the hatch damaged, right? Not the whole back quarter of the car?Seriously, you need to find a a totaled Vibe and cannibalize it. Most cars seem to get damage on the sides or front so you should be able to find this part. I wouldn't think it would cost you more than half of that deductible... though I really haven't checked that deep into things like that. In any case, good luck with it.Dave
