And I could not be happier with the sound :-)They are Polk db1000 1" Dome Tweeters and took about 20 minutes a side to do.Thanks to sstress for some helpful info on placement With the 10" sub in the hatch area the sound is really well rounded now. Will

Why are you making it slower!!! seriously, you need to take it to the track and get some 1/4 mile stats :-)your goal is quicker than 12.2@113 ;-)

No, but seriously, my tranny right now is my weakest link... one missed shift anf it'll grenade.. at my power level... ASAP, i'll be getting an actual 6MT STi tranny and will be much easier to get some decent 1/4's with it... right now, i'm just enjoying it... Not that is't a really "fast" car, but I walked all over a 04' GTO on the highway with it, repetedly..

Well yeah but an 04 GTO is......(drum roll please) slowwww... You need to run a modified GN against your modified STI ;-) to get a feel for how well it performs. Here is a picture of the installed tweeter on the driver's side. It is very exciting.......not so much....(2mg picture)...my car needs a bath.http://caninesportsrec.com/100_2114.JPG

Oh, and just a FYI, the Subie is more of a WRX than it's bigger brother the STi... one day it will grow up, but for now, it's lil'monster.. lol... Was it difficult to get the tweeters in there? Depth wise?

no problems getting them to fit. Plenty of room behind the mirror pod...cover...thingy.....Per sstress's suggestion I put them in the lower corners so as to avoid the power mirror wiring.2" hole saw...zip zip..in they went.

Looks good! Was there wiring for the tweeters already there, or did you need to run wire up from the existing speaker? Thanks.--Bill

I did not find any existing wiring harness for the M/T tweeters so I just ran the wiring off the door speakers. The Polks come with a crossover to protect them and I swear there is 10 feet of wire :-)I trimmed the wire from the tweeter to the crossover and from the crossover to the door speakers so it was a short as possible.Turns out there was an indentation in the door and the crossover fit there perfectly.I had to peel back the plastic sheeting held in place by tar and when I put it back it pinned the crossover in place well.

The crossovers are themselves encased in plastic. They are 'mounted' on the inside of the door under plastic so they will remain dry. The window sweeps push any window water down on the back side of where they are mounted.I would have to take the vibe swimming to get them wet :-)

Renthorin, nice install The Polk tweeter package really makes install easy. They really supply everything you need to do a clean job.BTW, when I lived in Pensacola, FL and was running a '99 WS6 (577 lift cam, programming, 3500 converter, 3.73 gears, intake work, etc) I pulled on a modified GN. I expected him to drive around me but instead to both our surprise, the LS1 kept pulling on him hard. But expensive gas, and a bride changed my Firebird into a Vibe. Go figure? The WS6 just before sale:
