Got my New Wheels on!

Post by Truckin1999 »

Not the most original choice I know, but I just think they are the best looking wheel for a Vibe. I got 18"x8" Sport Edition KV5's with 225/40/ZR18 Sumitomo tires. They are like the EVO5's. They look great! The paint is pretty thin, and even with my socket wrapped in electrical tape I chipped the paint in the lug holes. Overall I'm satisfied with them. You get what you pay for. Just gotta finish my headlight and grille mods in the next week or two and maybe I can leave it alone for a while. Last pic is the link to the album.

That's HOT man, I sure hope you are careful on our roads, one lapst of attantion and a pot hole later and well be reading "Oh NOS, I bent a wheelz" Now, you gotta paint'em black and you can be the Vader to my StormTrooper.... Heck, come on over and we'll paint your and mine at the same time...!!! I'm only gonna uae the stockers though, being my DD and me not truely owning the car means no wheels for me... Hmmmm, I just found I can't even right click/save to pull up the pic in Paint, to throw some black on it to even see.... It would look sooooooooooooooooooooooo sinister completely blacked out though...

I thought about the painting the wheels black. The paint is not very thick or durable on these wheels, so I figure I will have to repaint them eventually. We will have to wait and see what condition they are in next summer. I am, however going to paint the inside of the headlights black. I won't go through the trouble just to paint them black though. They are going to have to be paint matched to the Abyss. I ordered paint that was supposed to be an exact match, and I painted the grilles. It is not an exact match so the company is going to remix it for me. The grilles look good gloss black, but the headlights will match the car perfectly when I'm done. And I have some mesh on the way for the lower grilles. Its the darkness!Oh yeah, and I have to do something with that Pontiac emblem in the grille. Not sure what yet. Are there any billet aluminum replacements for it? I'm pretty sure I've seen graffwerx decals to cover it, but I don't want to go the sticker route. Any other ideas? Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Duplicolor makes a really nice graphite wheel paint to, had it on my old Subie and it held up great... looked great to, had gold/silver AND bronze flakes in it.. really popped in the sun... I'm serious about the invite, if you wanted to do the paint.. I have a place.. Just realized, you prolly don't need a place... just a push to do it... it would be hot..
