Vented hood?

Post by vibe Freak »

Is it going to help the under hood temps or is it more just a wast of money? I know they are much lighter than stock, I want to cool the Blower. Any input on this would be great.

now by vented do you mean a hood like mine? or a hood like Merz and Damron?? from what I understand a hood like theirs allows more air to flow over the engine and out...or atleast it gives it another exit so more can come in....and my hood forces more air into the compartment...so i guess either one would work...the ram air would probably serve you best if you were able to find a air vent to actually direct the air coming in off the ram to where you want it.

I was thinking of a hood that would allow the hot air to escape better when the car is moving. In AZ it gets hot in the summer time. I am going to be install W/I with in the week.

I would say it would help.I noticed my firewall does not get as hot anymore,so any hood that brought cooler air in will help lower temps or at least force it out.
