Hey all,I've been lurking for a few days just trying to learn about the Vibe. I was on the fence between a 2009 Matrix and a 2009 Vibe. After seeing both models in person, it was obvious that you get a lot more for your money with the Vibe. IMHO, the Vibe looks a lot better (better flowing lines). The lines on the Matrix seemed a bit overdone (kinda like the older generation Hyundai Tiburon). I ordered a 2009 ultra white Vibe GT with the security system and the sunroof as options. Of course the transmission I picked was the manual. The dealership told me that the wait period is around 45 days . I guess I'll spend that time waiting to learn about some mods I can do to the car. I'll have pics as soon as I get delivery of the car.Jason
45 days? Looks like the waiting time is about the same in CT than in Quebec, Canada. So, we're in the same boat, we can't wait to drive our new car and we have to wait these long weeks!!
Congradualtions and welcome. We just got a white GT last week. Around here, dealers are more than happy to swap their limited stock of Vibes with each. You can virtually find anything you want from one dealer or another and have that car at the dealer you're purchasing from within a day, two tops.

Thanks everyone. I can't wait to get the car. I wish the wait was shorter, but the dealership I went to only had a few automatics in stock. They told me I would be the first 2009 GT to be sold at the dealership.

The dealership contacted me and told me that my order was "accepted" immediately and that they should be getting an invoice from the factory. The salesperson I spoke to stated that the invoice would have my delivery date on it. So hopefully I will be getting a delivery date soon. BTW, I was told the order was entered in as "sold".
I just got off the phone with the dealership and was told that my delivery date is set for 5/1/2008. I should be getting the car in a few days. I'll post pics ASAP.Jason
Congratulations! The ultra white is a very nice colour, good choice.Wow, that was fast! I have had to wait a heart wrenching 9 weeks. Ordered it on Feb 26th and it is coming tomorrow...9x7=63 days. Youch Looking forward to seeing your pics up here
I actually got the first 09 Vibe that the dealership I went to sold. My third day of ownership and I like it even more. Congrats on the new Vibe, It is an awesome car.
I picked up my Vibe from the dealer on 5/3/08. Here are some pics. I'll get some better shots later on. The car I traded in was a 2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V. I cannot believe how refined the Vibe feels in comparison to the spec. Don't get me wrong, the spec was fast and was very fun to drive, but after a while my commute started to feel really long. The Vibe is so quiet and comfortable. I just need to get used to not hearing any exhaust noise from the Vibe. I got the 5 speed manual and the shifter is so smooth. It feels as if the linkage itself is counterweighted. I barely feel any "clunking" or "grinding" when shifting through the gears. The steering that almost every online car site describes as "numb" doesn't bother me one bit. I think the electronic motor based steering system doesn't allow for the progressive feeling of a typical hydraulic based system. The Vibe's steering is firm and has a good feeling on-center.The stereo sounds great especially for a factory system (plenty of bass and highs). I was impressed by the factory security system. It has a glass break sensor microphone built-in with a fuel cut-off system.Overall I am very impressed with the quality and dynamics of this car. I'm glad I decided to wait.Jay

I never saw a white one in person until I went to pick the car up from the dealer.Quote, originally posted by farles »Looks really sharp in white Did yours come with green tire valve caps? Not sure what to make of them...My car didn't come with the green caps. I think the green caps mean the tires are filled with nitrogen. Another note, the '09 Vibes come with individual tire pressure sensors on the valve stem. It's expensive if you want to install new rims (winter wheels) with extra sensors. You can see that the tire stems are held on by a nut. I guess this system doesn't use the ABS system like they did in the past.
