Keyless entry

Post by caliguy78 »

I purchased a used 2005 Pontiac Vibe. It has power windows and power door locks. How can I tell if it has factory keyless entry? I called the dealership and gave them the VIN but they were unable to figure it out. It would be a nice little upgrade if I can get it to work.

If it has power windows and power locks, it has keyless entry. They were not separate options.

Am I pretty safe buying any OEM remote from ebay? I already have the instructions for programming them.

You want a FCC ID of GQ43VT14T (it's on the back)

Per this thread: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=16401I'd say the panic button will indeed work.

My daughter recently bought an 05 vibe and the dealership didn't give her any remotes and only one key. Can I purchase remotes for her and program them myself or should she return to the dealership and ask them for remotes and a key.

If so then hell yea take it back and insist they give you at least one but they should give you two... If you hate dealing with the dealer yes you can program them yourself if you like

I printed out the instructions for programing and it doesn't sound all that hard to do. Thanks
